A New Year that goes with a BANG!

A New Year that goes with a BANG!
Well, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Christmas is always exciting for me as I am so spoilt. Everyone I know brings me presents. My favourites this year were a toy pig from Margaret (she is our housekeeper but her most important job is to look after me when Mum and Dad are working hard). It is great fun and makes real pig noises. At first I was unsure but now I love it. My other favourite present was my snowman from Mum and Dad. Not the type that I pee on but the type you shred as quickly as possible. It only took me a couple of minutes to remove his hat and chew off his nose. I went to my Grandmas (on my Mum’s side) for Christmas Day and she cooked goose which I had never had before. Well, what a treat; it was delicious! I know most people have turkey but Dad does not like it so lovely Grandma cooked it especially for him. I wonder where I get my spoiltness from! It was a super day and it was great to be with Mum and Dad as we had all been so busy with the house being open for Christmas and weddings. Boxing day was spent at home with all my Dad’s side of the family. We had lots of people to stay and had dinner in our dining room which was great. I just curled up by the open fire and got fed all the bits of lamb that people could spare. Mum and Dad told me they were going skiing for New Year to see their best friends. I was upset because I miss them lots but I did get to go and stay with my old friends Jack and Lulu. We had great fun. It was just like old times! On New Year's Eve everything was going well and we were playing as always when we heard a huge BANG! We were all scared. Then there were more...and more...and more. I did not know what was happening. I really wanted my Mum (I am such a Mummy’s boy) but I couldn’t find her anywhere. It was all getting to much and I was shaking so I decided to brave it and go and see if Mum and Dad had come back by any chance. So when Granny and Granpa weren’t looking I ran. I ran and ran all the way home. I ran down the hill and crossed the road and not even the scents of other dogs could stop me. When I got there I searched but there was no sign of Mum and Dad. I was so upset. I didn’t know what to do and the banging was still happening so I hid in my favourite spot behind the house. I didn’t come out till it was all over. I had one last search and then gave up and went back to Jack and Lulu’s. Fortunately, Granny and Granpa had left the cat flap open so I climbed in and got in a comfy, cosy bed. I was so happy it was all over. The next day Granny and Granpa told me that they had been looking for me for three whole hours, asking everyone in the village if they had seen me. I felt really bad and wished I was able to talk so I could explain!

Happy New Year everyone!
